How do you save places from Instagram to a map?
Screenshot the caption or the frames showing venue names, then run the images through a tool that reads the text and looks up each place. Instagram blocks most automated reads of post content, so pasting the link alone often returns nothing at all, while the screenshot route works consistently.
The saved-posts folder is where travel research goes to die. A Reel with eight restaurants in it is useful for about a week, and then it's one of four hundred saves with no city attached and no way to search it. The names in it are the valuable part, and they're locked in a video.
Link-based import works for travel blogs and articles, which serve their text to anyone. Instagram and TikTok mostly don't, because post content sits behind a login for anything that isn't a signed-in session. That's a platform decision rather than a limitation of the tool you're using, and no importer gets around it reliably.
So the dependable path is the screenshot. Take one of the caption, or of the frames where names appear on screen, and let OCR pull the text out. It adds about five seconds and works every time.
